Borough of East Newark is Now Hiring Class II Special Law Enforcement Officers
Part-Time Position. The East Newark Police Department, located in Hudson County, is accepting resumes from current, Certified Special Law Enforcement Officer Class II (SLEO II). The position is part time and health benefits, and unemployment will not apply.

Prospective SLEO II applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a resident of New Jersey and possess a valid NJ Driver's License.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language well and intelligently and have achieved a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be in sound physical condition and capable of performing physical functions of the duties assigned.
• Must be of good moral character.
• Applicants must pass a comprehensive background investigation, medical exam, psychological testing, drug screening, and an oral review board.
• Must currently possess the Class II certification.
